In addition, many aspects of our business revolve around protecting the environment. For example, our water filtration system ensures that any water used during manufacturing or pretreatment returns to earth without contaminants.

Our History
2005
The Mayne Coatings business started in Langley, BC, Canada. Mayne provides high-performance powder coating. This includes providing the local architectural building product manufacturers with unique woodgrain sublimation finishes for aluminum extrusions and sheets.
2008
Owners Mike and Karen Heppell recognized an opportunity to bring something entirely new to the design of inspiring building facades. They created the Longboard cladding system.
Over the next few years, the Longboard brand and product line grew exponentially. The company now supplies the building design and construction community with a diverse range of interior and exterior architectural products across North America.
2017
To keep up with market demand, Longboard undertook a massive expansion project. This included a state-of-the-art 350,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.
2020
In line with the company’s core value of simplicity, the operating company changed its name from Mayne Coatings Corporation to Longboard Architectural Products. The company remains family-owned. It’s committed to growing the Longboard brand and product line across all market segments in North America.
Today
Today, Longboard uses only the highest-grade aluminum and powder coating finishes available on the market. The company has committed to third-party testing and certifications for fire safety, thermal efficiency, wind loading, product health, and environmental impact and durability testing against weathering.
With highly skilled and experienced people, modern equipment, and exceptional process control, Longboard manufactures products to the highest standards available today in the world. We continue to lead the way as a premium building product manufacturer in North America.
In order to keep up with market demand, Longboard undertook a massive expansion project phased over a 5-year period between 2017 to 2021. During this expansion phase, a state-of-the-art 350,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility was constructed in Abbotsford, BC. At this time, the business vertically integrated into aluminum extrusion. Industry best-in-class manufacturing equipment was procured from Europe, including a complete aluminum extrusion line, a vertical powder coating line, sublimation finishing equipment, automated warehousing equipment, automated guided vehicle (AGV) material handling equipment, packaging equipment, and a range of CNC metal fabrication equipment. The combination of highly skilled and experienced people, modern equipment, and exceptional process control, enables Longboard products to be manufactured to the highest standards available today in the world. Now with a new name, Longboard Architectural Products continues to lead the way as a premium building product manufacturer in North America.
