Designed by Studio Troika, Merchant’s Row features pedestrian-friendly storefronts with expansive windows that invite passersby to engage with the shops and their offerings. To elevate the visual and functional appeal of the center, the design includes a prominent overhang with strategically placed cutouts that allow natural light to filter through. Angled fins within these cutouts provide passive solar shading, reducing heat gain during peak sunlight hours. The underside of the overhang is finished with Longboard’s 4″ V-Groove planks in Light Fir, introducing warmth and texture. The same planks are also used as accent cladding throughout the center, creating a cohesive and inviting architectural language across the development.
