The MEC Laval store in Quebec features a striking, timber-forward façade that reflects the brand’s commitment to nature-inspired architecture. Wood is prominently incorporated throughout both the interior and exterior, reinforcing a sense of warmth and authenticity. Longboard’s woodgrain 4″ V-Groove planks in Dark Fir were chosen for the soffits and feature cladding, offering rich, natural-looking tones that complement the surrounding glass and metal elements. This durable, low-maintenance material brings depth and texture to the building, helping create a strong visual identity and a welcoming environment for visitors.
Notably, the project showcases a clear contrast between natural wood and Longboard’s powder-coated, sublimated aluminum planks. When viewed side by side, the visual difference in weathering and material resilience becomes immediately apparent.
