Design Highlight: WSKY Stadium / Starbucks, Las Vegas, NV
Located just off Polaris Avenue in the heart of Las Vegas, WSKY Stadium is a striking example of how warm materiality and modern geometry can coexist beautifully within a commercial space. The design team at M&D Paint and Drywall created a façade that captures the vibrant rhythm of the city while maintaining a refined architectural balance.
For this project, the team selected Longboard 6″ V-Groove cladding and soffit planks in our Light Cherry woodgrain finish, a choice that adds a natural, organic warmth to the crisp modern lines of the building. The Light Cherry tone offers a subtle yet inviting contrast against glass and metal detailing, creating a cohesive language that transitions seamlessly from exterior cladding to soffit.
Beyond aesthetics, the use of aluminum provided the team with a durable, high-performance solution designed to withstand the desert climate of Nevada. Unlike natural wood, Longboard’s extruded aluminum profiles are non-combustible, low-maintenance, and coated with an AAMA 2605-certified powder finish to ensure long-term color stability and resistance to UV exposure. This makes it an ideal specification for commercial environments that demand both beauty and endurance.
