In 2017, Zips Car Wash, a leading car wash chain in the USA, underwent an extensive and impressive rebrand and expansion. They embarked on a complete redesign and rebrand initiative to enhance its market presence and operational efficiency. A major requirement for the design of the new facilities was that they be easy and quick to build. They needed building products that could be used across the country, comply with a multitude of different regulations, and be easy to install.

A crucial element of Zips Car Wash’s rebrand was to establish a strong, easily recognizable brand identity. New signage was designed to be highly visible and distinctive, making it easy for customers to identify Zips locations. Consistent brand messaging was implemented across all marketing channels, emphasizing reliability, speed, and superior service. Uniform design elements ensured that all locations have a consistent look and feel, creating a cohesive brand image that customers can trust.
Another critical consideration in the rebranding effort was the ease of construction and replication of the new design across multiple locations. Standardized materials and construction techniques streamlined the building process and ensured consistency across all locations. Longboard’s Link & Lock in 4” and 6” profiles were used, alongside 6” V-Groove, and our Panelboard™ System. The finishes used include a custom Zips red, as well as Bone White, and Black. The use of custom colors on the exterior cladding was a standout feature of Zip’s rebrand. This not only enhanced the visual appeal of the facilities but also reinforced the brand identity. Brand-specific colors were developed to create a unique color palette that is instantly associated with the Zips Car Wash brand. The colors were chosen to be vibrant and eye-catching, helping to attract customers. High-quality, durable materials were used for the exterior cladding to withstand various weather conditions while maintaining their appearance. The custom colors were incorporated into an innovative design that combines aesthetic with functionality, making the exterior cladding both attractive and easy to maintain.
